WS/FC Students Recognized at State Science Fair

Riyan LaNise Careathers
Jack Stieber

This comes to us from David DeLade, the Director of K-12 Science:

After an exciting weekend of science at the North Carolina Science and Engineering Fair, I am pleased to share that all ten students representing our district did an outstanding job presenting their science fair projects.

Please help me congratulate the following students who won/placed during the state competition at N.C. State University.

Elementary Division

Elementary Exemplary Award
Jack Stieber - Southwest Elementary School

Senior Division

Biological Sciences A: Honorable Mention
Riyan Careathers - Atkins High School

The student's road to the state competition began by advancing at their local school's science fair to our district fair, then advancing at our WS/FCS district science fair to Region 5, then advancing from the regional 5 science fair to states.

I am proud of the students who represented WS/FCS and all their hard-work and dedication to a lifelong love of science.
