Reagan Students Place First at State Leadership Conference

This comes to us from Michelle Derouin, who teaches Family and Consumer Science at Reagan High School and who advises the school’s chapter of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA):

"Watch out Anaheim, California!"

Good Afternoon Raiders!

It is with great excitement that I share the amazing news:

Emily Feria - Fashion Construction - Occupational - Gold - 1st
Lorelai Gardner - Sports Nutrition - Occupational - Gold - 1st
Paisley Hodge - Illustrated Talk - Junior - Gold - 1st
Guzin Karagoz - Advocacy - Senior - Gold - 1st
Eleanor Saunders - Fashion Design - Occupational - Gold - 1st

All five, yep, FIVE competitors placed GOLD and FIRST PLACE at the N.C. FCCLA State Leadership Conference. If you have them in class, please congratulate them! Their hard work has paid off, and now they will work even harder as they go against the rest of the Nation at the FCCLA National Conference in Anaheim, CA from June 29-July 5.

Needless to say, many schools in North Carolina took attention as Reagan took home top scores in four events we have never competed in before. Raiders became a force to be reckoned with this year, we brought our A game!

In addition, our chapter was recognized for their participation in the Career Connection National Program for their multiple year plan projects #Adulting101.

Have a great rest of your week!
Mrs. Derouin
