"Where the big kids learn about the little kids." That's our motto here at the Career Center's Early Childhood Education class!

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County students in this class are engaged and interested in careers with today's children....whether it is early childhood ed, elementary ed, social work, the pediatric field of medicine, or child psychology or simply the fact that one day they will be parents themselves.

Fifty percent of our class time is spent on instruction about various topics such as the ages and stages of childhood, areas of development and developmentally appropriate activities to go along with those ages, learning about how to set limits and guide behavior, careers with children, and a great deal more.

But the fun part is that 50 percent of our class time is spent at internships where my students have hands-on opportunities to work with children throughout our county.
