Sewing Seeds

By Michael Pesce
Director of School Social Work

Today (Sunday), the second annual Sowing Seeds Children's Festival took place at Bailey Park. The festival supports the WS/FCS School Social Work Food for Thought pantry that serves needy students and their families year round.

Attendees brought their children to participate in music and art activities while bringing canned goods to support our students. Speas Elementary and Diggs Latham Elementary Schools participated in the entertainment on the Bailey Park stage.

Over 25 large boxes of non-perishable food was donated to our pantry with Trader Joe's bringing half of those donated items! We have enough food to help countless families over the next several months.

The outpouring of support and kindness from our community was amazing!
