Lewisville Town Council Recognizes Lewisville Elementary


At a recent meeting, the Lewisville Town Council honored Lewisville Elementary School.

“We are very proud of the achievements at Lewisville Elementary School and feel very fortunate to have the staff, teachers, parents and children as part of our wonderful community,” said Lewisville Mayor Mike Horn. “Principal Choplin and her staff do an amazing job working with the kids to help them realize their academic potential and develop outstanding character that will serve them well throughout their lives.”

Here is what the resolution says:

Whereas: It is well established that a student’s academic achievement, particularly in elementary school, is directly related to their professional and personal success in life; and

Whereas: It is the mission of our public school system to provide the highest level of educational instruction and opportunities to our children; and

Whereas: Every day the highly committed, talented and caring teachers and staff at Lewisville Elemntary School strive to provide an outstanding learning environment for our children; and

Whereas: In the 2016-17 school year End of Grade achievement tests our own Lewisville Elementary was rated among the top 4% in the state for proficiency and student academic growth in North Carolina’s Standard Course of Study in English Language Arts, Reading, Mathematics and the Essential Standards in Science;

Be It Therefor Resolved: The Lewisville Town Council recognizes the teachers, staff, students and parents of Lewisville Elementary School for this outstanding achievement and extends our community’s sincerest appreciation for a job well done in preparing our children for the future.
