At Kimberley Park Elementary School, the Winston-Salem Alumni Chapter of N.C., Central University is sponsoring a reading incentive program for students from pre-kindergarten through grade 5.
The program is called, "Soaring Eagles Flying High Reading Incentive Program."
Students keep a log of the books that they read. At the end of a certain time period, the boy and girl in each grade level who has read the most books gets rewarded.
The first time the alumni association rewarded the students with an ice cream party, a book, a bookmark and a pencil.
