Volunteers from Westside Christian Church Join People from Carter High in Sprucing Up Campus

Claudette Goodwin, who teaches agriculture at Carter High School, sent in this report:

On Saturday, May 6, the Rev. Marty Anderson, who is the lead minister at Westside Christian Church, joined members of his congregation and a few alumni from Carter High School in sprucing up the Carter campus.

Volunteers’ spent three hours from 9:00 am till 12:00 noon working. Claudette Goodwin brought the doughnuts and water. Westside provided the coffee, labor, preen, mulch, and lots of hard work.

The day started off a little drizzly then the sun came out. We had a delightful day meeting volunteers’ in our community and working together.  Our Alumni and Dr. Manns work on the raised bed.

We also expressed our gratitude for the weekly food donated to our students through the BackPack program. We appreciate the offer of continued support and look forward to working together again in the future.
