The Power of K Teacher Leaders in Action

Eva C. Phillips, the Ready Schools Coordinator, has been checking in on kindergarten classes throughout the school system.

She has observed students learning about the characteristics of apples, learning the alphabet, reading their own writings, exploring, building community and much more.

She sent in some pictures and some thoughts about the Power of K teacher leaders in action:

“As the school year kicks off all across our district, our Power of K kindergarten teachers are busily helping children settle in to their new environments, to form learning communities, to explore and discover new things about themselves, their friends and their worlds, and to have meaningful learning opportunities while their teachers take time to guide their learning and document each child's growth and development.
