Power of K Teacher Leaders Explore Together

Power of K Teacher Leaders
By Eva Phillips
Ready Schools Coordinator

The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools’ Power of K Teacher Leaders spent the day together on Oct. 13 exploring topics related to effective family engagement, supporting children with special needs and providing engaging mathematics strategies for kindergartners.

Special presenters included Dr. Paula Grubbs, WS/FCS Lead Exceptional Children's Preschool Teacher and Dr. Amy Scrinzi, Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant Project Lead with the N.C. Office of Early Learning in the Department of Public Instruction.

These teacher leaders' brains were stretched and full after this fun-filled and "content-full" day of conversations, sharing of strategies, reflection and exploration! They left at the end of the day feeling re-energized and inspired with LOTS of new strategies for working with families, supporting children with special needs and teaching kindergartners Geometry!
Also...lots more learning about what it means to be a Teacher Leader in our district. Thanks to our friends at the United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church for hosting us in their space.
