Art Show at Winston-Salem Prep

This comes to us from Kim Watkins, the Visual Arts teacher at Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy:

Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy held first annual Student Art Show.

The artwork of both Middle and High School students was featured on Tuesday, May 21st from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Media Center. Student art from the entire school year was put on display for staff, students, and community to see.

This is my first year at Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy but I have been teaching art for 10 years and I have always held a student art show at each school. It is important that we showcase the work students are doing and give them incentives and high expectations for achievement.

The students at Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy are very talented and need to have opportunities for recognition of their hard work, dedication, and contributions to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools district.
