District Students Win at Regional Science Fair


This comes to us from David DeLade, the Director of K-12 Science for Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools:

After an exciting day of science at the Region 5 Science Fair, I am pleased to share that all students representing our district did an outstanding job presenting their science fair projects. Highlights of the day can be found on our science Twitter feed.

Please help me congratulate the following students who will be representing our district at the North Carolina State Science Fair on March 29 30 at N.C. State University in Raleigh.

Jack Stieber, 1st place elementary division, Southwest Elementary

Talon Keeler, 1st place middle school earth environmental, East Forsyth Middle

Oliver Lee, 2nd place, middle school chemistry, Hanes Magnet Middle

Both Talon and Oliver were award recipients from the North Carolina American Water Works Association for projects involving impacts of water usage and water conservation and stewardship.

Bri Thompson, 2nd place, high school Bio B, Atkins Academic & Technology High

Riyan Careathers, 1st place, high school Bio A, Atkins

Anabel Merriam, 3rd place, high school earth environmental, Atkins

Emily Moore & Brianna Oxendine, 1st place, high school chemistry, Walkertown High

Liliane Masamba & Julia Ebangula, 3rd place, high school engineering, ESL Academy
