“Here at Gibson Elementary, we just completed a month of “Random Acts of Kindness,” said school counselor Deborah Mobley. “The official date for Random Acts of Kindness is February 17. Random Acts of Kindness has transformed our classrooms and improved the school climate. Gibson counselors and teachers planned a variety of activities, including lesson plans, projects, and posters.
“In a world where
stress, violence, and intense competition cause us to feel disconnected, acts
of kindness can bring us together as we find fulfillment and joy in thinking
about and doing something nice for others. All human beings need
affection to thrive and even small acts of kindness can touch someone deeply
and make their day.
“We are so proud of
our students here at Gibson, so we created a video recreating the Random
Acts of Kindness. Please watch the video it will warm your heart.”
