Retiring Speech Pathologist at Sedge Garden Elementary Receives The Order of the Long Leaf Pine

On Monday, Carolyn Woods, who is retiring a speech pathologist at Sedge Garden Elementary School, was honored by being given The Order of the Long Leaf Pine, one of the highest honors the governor of North Carolina can bestow.

Created in 1963, it recognizes people “who have a proven record of service to the State of North Carolina or some other special achievement, and to others as a gesture of friendship and good will.”

On hand to help her celebrate were members of her family and those who have worked with her over the years.

You will find a story about Woods at Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools
