This morning, Chief Catrina Thompson and about 20 Winston-Salem police officers were on hand to greet students at Philo-Hill Magnet Academy with high fives as they arrived this morning.
Principal Essie McKoy had this to say:
"Indeed, we were elated that the Chief and several officers came to PHMA to not only meet and greet, but to connect with our students.”
“It is always a positive experience to have officers to develop positive relationships with students and be visible not only in the community, but also in our school.”
“As the old adage goes, ‘It takes a village to raise a child,’ and it still holds true. Now, we say, ‘It takes the entire community to educate our students.’"
