Southeast
Middle School has earned an Energy Star from the Environmental Protection
Agency.
Here’s what the news release from Howard Moore, who oversees energy
management for the school system, had to say:
“Congratulations
to all the staff, students, parents and community at Southeast Middle School!
You did it! You have earned EPA's ENERGY STAR!”
“To earn ENERGY STAR certification, a facility
must operate among the top 25 percent of similar facilities nationwide,
with no sacrifices in comfort or quality. It takes a score of 75 to earn the
Energy Star.”
“Southeast Middle
School earned the Energy Star with a score of 99."
"Outstanding!”
“This
achievement confirms the district’s mission of educating our students while
improving the teaching and learning environment and reflecting the district’s
commitment to environmental stewardship.”
