This comes
to us from Pamela Henderson-Kirkland, the Arts Magnet Director at Reynolds
High:
On the night of Friday Oct. 25, noted musician Ben Folds,
who is a graduate of Reynolds High, visited with a number of Reynolds students
at The Ramkat in downtown Winston-Salem
at the inaugural Tongue & Groove concert series presented by Texas Pete!
Folds met with
the students before the show, talked about his time at Reynolds and career in
music, answered some questions from them, and gave each of them a copy of his
book.
The students there are involved in various aspects of Reynolds’ Arts
Magnet Program, from theatre to guitar, and all are advanced piano students who
study with Amy Harlee.
Pamela Henderson-Kirkland is the school’s Arts Magnet Director,
and Mike Chamis is a guitar instructor and artist extraordinaire.
