This comes to us from Rodolfo Eric M Angat at
Parkland High School:
We recently participated
in District Science fair and we are very happy on the results. Here are the winning
projects and their descriptions:
Category: High School,
Earth and Environmental Science
Second Place: Lenore
Fredia Williams researched by comparing the pH, hardness, and phosphate
contents of alkaline and tap water. She encouraged people to use tap water more
rather than buy alkaline bottle water to minimize plastic pollution and save
money.
Third Place: Leon
Wike tested various garden hose nozzle to find out which is most efficient.
Using the most efficient garden nozzle can make the job right with minimal water
consumption.
Fourth Place: Kyla
Remi McCoy investigated about the importance of vegetation in alleviating
water pollution due to runoff. She explained the importance of riparian buffers
and wetlands.
Honorable Mention
Award: Azela Deashawn Jackson studied on finding out which bottled water
brand has the least amount of plastic. Less plastic is good for the
environment, but of course recyclables are still better.
